Organist & Choir Director

Steven Richardson Severin is a multifaceted church musician, educator, and collaborative keyboardist. Prior to St. Timothy's, he was the Assistant Director of Music at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Chattanooga, TN. His previous work as an organist has also included St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Honolulu, HI.


Having grown up and spent his early years in Hawaiʻi, he also worked as an educator and musician with the Hawaiʻi Youth Opera Chorus, and assisting the middle school choirs at Kamehameha Schools, Kapālama.


Steven holds degrees in Piano Performance from the University of Texas and the University of Hawaiʻi, and has studied organ under Kenneth Miller and Katherine Crosier, with additional work in improvisation under Robert McCormick. He has also received coaching in choral conducting under Miguel Felipe, Jonathan Velasco, and Kathy S. Romey.
